Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-03

These terms cover your use of the Privacy Shield browser extension and the Privacy Shield Supporter subscription. Privacy Shield is made by Arif Karim in Australia ("we", "us"). By installing the extension you agree to them.

What Privacy Shield does

When a web page asks for your phone number, Privacy Shield reads that site's public privacy policy and shows a rating (red, yellow, green, or "couldn't check") describing whether your details may be sold or shared with companies that will contact you.

Ratings are guidance, not advice

Free plan and Privacy Shield Supporter

Cancelling and refunds

Fair use

Don't use Privacy Shield to overload our service, get around the free plan's limits, or share licence keys publicly. We may limit or suspend access that's clearly abusive, and we'll refund any unused paid period if we do.

Changes

We may update the extension, these terms, or Supporter pricing. If a change affects what you pay, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Privacy Shield is provided "as is", and we're not liable for decisions you make based on a rating, or for what third-party websites do with your information. If we're found liable for anything to do with your subscription, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
